My involvement in "So They Can", a charitable organisation supporting communities in Africa, began when we sponsored two orphaned children. At the time we wanted to educate our children about those less privileged, little did we know that this would open our lives to an enriching, confronting and life changing experience.
Skin is our largest and most important organ. Without an intact skin barrier we literally cannot survive. The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the skin and has the largest impact on barrier function. It acts like a thick armour protecting us from infection and dehydration.
Avoid exposure to the sun, by wearing a hat and protective clothing. Including topical niacinamide in your skincare routine and consider taking an oral supplement of vitamin B3. It is showing promise in reducing the formation of sun spots and hence skin cancer.
